Note, 2024

"It is thinkable that the investigation of the behavior of migratory birds and carrier pigeons may some day lead to the understanding of some physical process which is not yet known." – This letter, written by Einstein in 1949, is centered around his engagement with von Frisch's research. It reveals Einstein's pure imagination and insight in seeking physical developments from animal behavior, reminding us of their importance. Inspiration is always found somewhere distant and different.

「渡り鳥や伝書鳩の行動研究が、まだ知られていない物理的プロセスの手がかりとなるかもしれません。」 – 1949年、アインシュタインがフォン・フリッシュの研究に触れながらそう記した手紙⁨が真ん中に据えられている。動物の行動から物理の発展を見出そうとする彼の、想像力・洞察力の純粋性を私たちは目の当たりにし、その大切さを思い出させてくれる。インスピレーションはいつも、どこか遠い別のところにある。
